Foreign Language Courses

Spanish I
2 semesters; 1 unit credit
Spanish I introduces students to the language and culture of Spanish-speaking countries. Emphasis is placed on vocabulary, simple conversational skills, and basic grammar structures.

Spanish II
2 semesters; 1 unit credit
Spanish II continues study of the fundamentals of Spanish grammar and composition. Students will engage in advanced conversations using more advanced vocabulary than in Spanish I. Translation of Spanish literature will be assigned. Language behavior moves from imitative to reflective.

Spanish III
2 semesters; 1 unit credit
Spanish III stresses conversational and cultural skills. Major areas of study are Spanish literature, history and customs. Emphasis is placed on speaking and writing in Spanish.
